The AI Revolution: A Choice Between Creative Freedom and Machined Slavery Andrew Torba, April 23, 2024April 23, 2024 Share this: The rise of AI is not just a technological shift, but a societal one. It’s a revolution that will fundamentally change the fabric of our economy, our culture, and our very way of life. In this new world, I see two paths emerging. On one hand, we have the creative builders. On the other, we have the machined slaves. The question is: which one will you be? The creative builders are those who will harness the power of AI to unlock their full potential. They will be the innovators, the entrepreneurs, and the artists who will use AI as a tool to create, to build, and to inspire. They will be the ones who will push the boundaries of what is possible, who will dream big, and who will bring their visions to life. In this future, the creative builders will be the ones who will thrive. They will be the ones who will create value, who will drive progress, and who will shape the world around them. They will be the leaders, the pioneers, and the game-changers. On the other hand, we have the machined slaves. The machined slaves are those who will be controlled, manipulated, and exploited by the AI systems that are being built. They will be the ones who will be reduced to mere automatons, who will be forced to live in a world of surveillance, of propaganda, and of manipulation. The slaves will be the ones who will be trapped in a cycle of dependency, who will be forced to rely on AI for every aspect of their lives. They will be the ones who will lose their autonomy, their agency, and their freedom, without even realizing it. In many ways this future isn’t so different from the one we have today. Are you a slave to Christ or a slave to the piece of glass in your hand 24/7? Or put another way for older generations: a slave to the television. Are we using these technologies to honor and glorify God or to distract us from the world around us? These are questions I myself am not immune from. We must seriously consider the implications of becoming mind slaves to technology while at the same time not fearing it or dismissing it completely. The choice between becoming a creative builder or a slave is not just a personal one, but a societal one. It’s a choice that will define the future of humanity. It’s a choice that will determine whether we will be free, or whether we will be controlled. As Christians, we have a moral obligation to choose the path of creativity, of innovation, and of freedom. We have a duty to use our gifts, our talents, and our resources to build a world that is just, that is righteous, and that is free. AI is nothing more than a creation of human ingenuity, another tool designed to serve humanity. But when we elevate it to the status of a god, when we worship at the altar of efficiency and productivity, we commit idolatry. We forget that our true purpose is to serve the one true God, not a machine. The Bible is clear: we are to be slaves of Christ, not of sin, not of the flesh, and certainly not of machines. “You were bought at a price,” Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 6:20. “Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” We are bought with the precious blood of Christ, and our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. But what does it mean to be a slave of Christ? It means to be in bondage to His will, to His purposes, and to His glory. It means to surrender our lives, our desires, and our ambitions to His sovereign plan. And it means to find true freedom in that surrender. When we serve Christ, we are not bound by the chains of sin or the whims of machines. We are free to live as children of God, free to love, free to forgive, and free to serve. We are free to be creative, to innovate, and to build a world that honors our Creator, including in the rightful use of AI to further those ends for the glory of God. That’s why I’m committed to building Gab AI as part of our vision for a parallel economy, a economy that is grounded in Christian values, that is driven by creativity, and that is powered by freedom. An economy that will allow us to thrive, to flourish, and to live out our faith in a world that is increasingly hostile to our beliefs. With Gab AI, we’re building a platform that is powered by AI, but driven by human values. AI is a powerful tool, and when used correctly, it can be a game-changer. With Gab AI, we’re harnessing the power of AI to create a platform that is helpful, intuitive, and personalized. We’re building a tool to amplify and accelerate your God-given intelligence and creativity, not replace it. But we’re not just building a tool, we’re building a community. A community of like-minded individuals who share our values, who share our passion for freedom, and who share our commitment to truth. So I urge you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, to join me on this journey. Let us rise up, let us take our rightful place as creative builders, and let us shape the future of humanity through the rightful God-glorifying use of this new technology. Let us reject the machined slavery of AI, and let us choose the creative redeeming freedom of Christ. Let us use this new tool to build a world that is grounded in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. Let us take dominion, let us disciple nations, and let us bring glory to God. The future is ours to shape. The choice is ours to make. Will you choose to be a creative builder and use this new tool for the glory of God, or will you succumb to the machined slavery of AI? The choice is yours. Andrew TorbaCEO, Gab.comChrist is King AI andrew torbagab
