Investing in the Gab Community Andrew Torba, February 21, 2022June 7, 2022 Share this: Over the past five and half years Gab has been building infrastructure to ensure that free speech is preserved online for all people at all costs. Gab is no longer simply the “Twitter alternative,” we are the complete solution to all of Silicon Valley. In the past 30 days alone we’ve had over 90 million visits to Gab, which is up from 70 million in November. That’s more than most of the “mainstream” news sites and that number is exploding in growth. In light of this rapid growth, our vision and mission has expanded. What we realized a year ago is that in order to defend free speech online for all people we need to build our own Parallel Economy. We’ve been banned from app stores, hosting providers, email services, banks, and more. We had to build solutions to all of these problems and we are the only technology company in the world to accomplish that daunting task. We’ve invested millions of dollars buying servers, expanding our infrastructure into multiple data centers, and building solutions to the Big Tech services. Now we are ready to invest in other entrepreneurs and creators who are going to help us build the Parallel Economy. We know that we can’t do this alone. We have so many talented engineers, creators, and builders in the Gab community and we want to help them succeed in the Gab Parallel Economy. Over the next few months we will be rolling out the Parallel Economy Fund to invest capital, resources, and time into people who are building businesses and careers in the Parallel Economy on Gab. This can range from tech startups, to eCommerce businesses, to content creators, churches, to moms selling stuff around the house on Gab Marketplace and more. One example of this is Gab Community member Garpunk, who used GiveSendGo to raise $5,000 to build out his studio for content creation on Gab TV. Gab contributed $1,000 to this campaign as a company and the Gab Community helped Garpunk raise the remaining funds needed to build and create. We don’t just want to invest in businesses and creators. We also want to invest in the families and individual people in our community and help them when they need it most. An example of this is the Holland family. Jill Holland is a wife and mother who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in January 2021. The Gab community rallied around her to help raise $13,000 to help her family cover medical and travel expenses for her treatment. Gab contributed $3,000 to this effort. What makes Gab different and unique is our community. It’s not the technology or the story or even the tremendous hurdles we have overcome by the Grace of God. It’s the people on Gab that make Gab something special. We care about one another and help one another because we know what is at stake for the future of our families and country. Gab isn’t funded by billionaires or Wall Street. We are funded by our community of people who upgrade to GabPRO, buy merchandise from our shop, and run ads for their businesses on Gab. The Gab Parallel Economy Fund will be our way of giving back to and reinvesting in the community. In the coming weeks we will be opening an application process and begin vetting opportunities for the Parallel Economy Fund. It’s not just about us investing money into people and businesses, it’s about us investing our time and the tremendous reach of the Gab ecosystem to tens of millions of people. One email from Gab can set up a family business for success. One post from the Gab account can help a family pay their medical expenses. One Gab ad campaign can propel a candidate to office or take a business to the next level. This is the power of the Parallel Economy on Gab and our goal with the Parallel Economy Fund is to invest in our people to help make these things happen. We are excited to share more with you soon and can’t wait to see how the Parallel Economy Fund changes lives and removes our collective dependance on the existing corrupt mainline economy.
