Spiritual revival is huge news lately. What is happening at Asbury University has been in the news for weeks. Is it real? Is it fake? Is it woke? Is it sincere? It is all anyone wants to talk about. It is self-evident that we are in desperate need of Christian spiritual awakening. It is no secret that we are living through the greatest cultural revolution our nation has ever seen. There is serious, irreparable political division, powerful forces have unleashed leftwing cultural subversion and racial unrest, there is rapid technological change, there is the looming threat of nuclear war, and our nation is committed to an increasingly unpopular conventional war, and the younger generations are increasingly disenchanted and pushed to the margins of society. The more things change, the more they stay the same. To say there are parallels between today and the 1960s would be a massive understatement.

The Psychological and Social Persecution of Christians in Current Year
Most American Christians have been told their entire lives to be ready to give their lives for Jesus Christ. But the enemies of Christ in the modern globalist world are not going to feed you to lions or burn you at the stake. Instead, if you are a Christian in modern trashworld, your martyrdom will be psychological. Not only will this psychological torment happen to you, it already has begun.
Like many young Christians who first discovered the history of the Christian faith, I was inspired by the stories of martyrs. How could you not be filled with enthusiasm and passion hearing the examples of men and women who gladly went to their excruciating deaths, refusing to deny their Lord? Being thrown to lions, set on fire, beaten, tortured, imprisoned, and starved. I read Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, detailing the history of Christian martyrs from the early church to the Reformation, and was filled with awe. After all, how could you not be?

If you are even the slightest bit aware of what is happening to our country, you have probably said something like, “it can’t go on like this forever, eventually there is going to be a collapse.” From an economic perspective, you instinctively know that, eventually, you will run out of other people’s money. For decades now, you could tell how much a website’s audience was aware of reality and, therefore, how rightwing it is based on how many ads there were for disaster preparedness and food storage. For those with eyes to see, it is obvious that things are much more fragile than anyone wants to admit. 2020 was a peek behind that curtain for the few willing to look. Everyone with even the mildest rightward sensibilities knows things are in decline and our civilization, especially our standard of living, is on life support. It is not hard to see—if you are willing to see it.
King David’s Israel as a Model For Life in 21st Century America
David has been on the run from Saul, and now things are beginning to change. David has assembled a kingdom in exile that is growing more powerful, and Saul is waging war not only on David but on Yahweh Himself. For those with eyes to see, this passage is an example of how God’s people can not only survive godless, bloodthirsty tyrants, but prepare to rule after God removes them.
Answering the Normiecon Death Cult
Yesterday, the editor of the Babylon Bee, Joel Berry, posted on social media his plan for saving America, import tens of millions of people from third-world, socialist, narco-states and just “assimilate them.”
Faith as Allegiance in 1 Samuel 20:1-42
In our passage today, we see the heir to the house of Saul pledge his covenant loyalty to the heir to the house of Jesse. We see a transfer of loyalty in Jonathan between his father’s doomed house and his father’s replacement. That is what is in view here, and, if we have eyes to see it, it is a picture, with stunning clarity, of what the gospel of Jesus Christ is.
On Friday, January 13, the ATF announced a new rule stating that stabilizing braces on what they had previously classified as “pistols” are now to be considered “short-barreled rifles.” Also, they must be registered as such by all manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and owners within 120 days or be charged with a felony. The apparent purpose of such a ruling is to punish the 40 million owners of such guns because they pose an electoral, political, and cultural threat to the ruling regime. And lest anyone be confused, the “ruling regime” does not mean the nominal head installed in the White House; it means the Permanent Government, of which the Administrative State is a major part, which includes the ATF.
On Tuesday, January 10, I testified to the Minnesota Senate Health and Human Services Committee, which was holding a hearing on SF 1, the very first piece of legislation from the new DFL Senate majority in Minnesota. For years, the Minnesota Senate was controlled by a Republican Majority thanks to the greater degree of representation the Minnesota Constitution affords rural and exurban counties. But thanks to the Minnesota GOP’s corruption and ineptitude (even exceeding their fellows at the Federal level), especially in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, the DFL was able to easily lie their way to control of the entire Minnesota legislature.
On Monday night, in the nationally televised game between the Bengals and the visiting Buffalo Bills, Bills safety Damar Hamlin was hit as he tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. After the play, Hamlin popped up, adjusted his helmet, then suddenly collapsed backwards to the ground. First responders applied a defibrillator to Hamlin and then performed CPR for 9 minutes, as players from both teams gathered to pray for him. His heartbeat was restored and he was transported to a nearby hospital.
